I don’t know about you, but I am finding it quite intimidating at the moment, seeing my newsfeeds filled with constant ways to keep myself motivated and constantly seeing people showcasing their new quarantine skills. As much as I think it can be a struggle keeping motivated when at home and finding new ways of combating boredom can be hard, I think we all need to step back, and just use this time to refresh.

People are feeling the pressure to try and get work done from home, feeling the need to be working 9-5 all day and when they are running out of work to do, they panic. I would know because I have been there. I will finish my work and feel guilty for the rest of the day, constantly scrambling to see if there is anything more I can do. It’s time to learn that you don’t have to be 100% all the time and that’s ok. It’s important you take time for yourself.

I love seeing the positive effects that Corona Virus is having in my newsfeeds. Seeing communities support one another, people going out of their way to help a fellow human being. I believe that this event will change the communities and society for the better. Social media has been key in this support, the online networking between people has brought communities together.

Take the time to post for your community, you never know who has read it and it could make their day. But don’t think just because you’re not one of these people learning a new skill or working 24/7 that what you are doing at home isn’t enough! It’s about what YOU can do, not what others can. I’m not saying give up halfway through your day, just remember to take the time out for yourself because its important that you keep your sanity whilst being in lockdown.
